The Little Snob Part

My timidness has always been mistaken for snobbery. Few of my friends even confessed that they thought I’m a snob when they first met me and didn’t expect we would eventually become close friends. I’m not like other social butterflies. As an introvert, striking a conversation with a stranger means exerting a lot of effort in my part. I don’t know about others but I’m the type who prefers to listen and observe than do the talking.

introvert (1)

One of the observations I had about people is that no matter how easygoing or egalitarian they are or what they claim to be, there is a part of us that is a snob. In my case, I like to steer clear at:

a) overrated stuff

…….like news about people that are not worth to extensively talk about; TFIOS movie; Spiderman; PB&J; February 14; and Starbucks. If you like these stuff, I’m not judging you. I’m just saying we are not on the same page if we talk about the about the above-mentioned stuff.

b) conversations about celebrities’ dating life

c) badmouthing people I barely know

First of all, it is morally wrong. Second, it’s really unfair to talk bad things about people that you don’t really know well. People are not always what they seem to be.

d) insensitive smokers

If you smoke, it’s your choice. I’m not going to stop you because I know it’s not going to happen just because I say so. But, PLEASE DO NOT BLOW YOUR SMOKE TO NON-SMOKERS. It’s rude, unhealthy, and definitely not cool.

e) misogynists

I can never be friends with people who hates, dislikes, mistrusts, and most of all, treat women like properties. I can deal with (a), (b), (c), and (d). But, misogynists? No thanks.

f) trying to be something I’m not just to look cool

I’m not very good at pretending. So when I don’t like certain films, TV shows, music, events, activities, and other things, people would find out and chances are, I wouldn’t care what they’ll think of me. Just even thinking about changing myself just to look “cool” to others make me sick. It’s like I don’t own my brain and my senses. Oscar Wilde would agree to this.
